"Backyard Escape"

Another special place to me is my backyard that I knew throughout childhood. It is the place I like to go to escape from the city and to take in the trees and wildlife that I don't get to see on a daily basis. I used 2 completely unrelated photographs to assemble my collage. My hope is that the 2 messages would collide so that the viewer would get a sense of my attitude toward this space.

"Weekend Getaway"

My "Special Place" is my couch on the weekend with my boyfriend, Marc (and sometimes my dog, Charlie). It is the time where I get to escape from my hectic life and just be me. I wanted to unify the piece and create the feeling of one place by duplicating the images and emphasizing the photos of the couch. My hope is that the viewer gets the feeling of contentment even amidst the bright colors and city setting.
